of the Mind
This brief urgently calls for an exploration of how we can create, foster, and design 'playscapes' tailored to Gen Z—a generation born into the digital world. Examine the distinctive spaces this audience inhabits and identify opportunities to elevate, optimise, and enrich these environments to better serve playful engagement.
A Journey of the Mind is a project exploring the in-between areas within London boroughs while commuting, and how they are often overlooked by young commuters. I’ve always been drawn to the experience of being in a bus journey.
I created ten concertinas representing ten Superloop bus journeys, particularly designed to encourage a mindfulness experience during the bus journeys.
Referenced from the book Be Here Now by Ramdass (1970), within my mindfulness exercises, I referenced this set of questions from Be Here Now that helps bring the audience to the present. Exploring and working with this new kind of subject matter had become my new way of working, pushing me to break through my comfort zone.
